Arkhangelsk Pulp and Paper Mill in Russia modernized the washing plant in their bleached pulp production line. The reasons were increased environmental requirements and the old drum filter battery becoming obsolete.

So far in 2018, Valmet has attended 16 different roadshows and investor seminars. After Q1 results, Valmet has been traveling in London, Amsterdam, Los Angeles and New York, and has of course met with investors also at our head office and in conference calls. As usual, there were some popular topics that were discussed in most of the meetings. Here are the top three questions raised by the investors in our recent meetings.

When a new white liquor plant was installed at the CMPC Laja mill in Chile, simulator training and testing of the distributed control system (DCS) were essential parts of the project. They were key factors in achieving a fast, smooth start-up.

Fibre-Excellence is a pulp mill located in Saint-Gaudens, South-West France. A few years back the mill was facing frequent breaks and severe losses. To solve their production problems, Fibre-Excellence decided to partner with Valmet. After signing a Performance Agreement, a team of experts from different parts of Valmet was appointed to work with the customer. Co-operation proved to be the key to solving the problems!

In September 2019, Klabin Puma Unit’s Pulp Dryer Machine 26 reached the production record of 1,408 ADt/d, its nominal capacity being 1,300 ADt/d. The machine was provided by Valmet and produces softwood and fluff pulp. In the same month Pulp Dryer Machine 25, which produces eucalyptus wood pulp, reached the production record of 3,710 ADt/d.

During a test run on February 11, 2020 a production world record was reached on the pulp drying line, with a total running rate of 2750 air dried tonnes per day, corresponding to 458 air dried tonnes per day/meter, which is the highest specific capacity reached for a Softwood machine.
