Metso continues to expand its industry-leading global service center network by opening mining service centers in Peru and Mexico. The investments, worth in total EUR 6 million,  are in line with Metso's long-term strategy to strengthen its local services presence close to its customers. Metso already serves its mining and construction customers from over 50 service centers around the world. A new center is also in the process of being built in Mesa, Arizona, United States  and in Labrador City in Canada.

Mr. Juha Silvennoinen (MSc. in Engineering) has been appointed President, Services business line in Mining and Construction as of March 26, 2014. Juha has made a long career in ABB where he has held several executive positions in various businesses. In his last position at ABB he was responsible for Motors and Generators business unit, which employs some 16,000 people globally.

Valmet enters into a global partnership for oil& gas, power generation and gas processing industry automation with Sirio Solutions Engineering S.p.A. in Italy

Valmet has signed a global value-added reseller (VAR) agreement with Sirio Solutions Engineering S.p.A. (SSE) based in Prato, Italy. The agreement authorizes the new partner to sell and deliver Valmet’s automation products and solutions to end customers in the oil and gas, power generation and gas processing industries around the world as part of its own turnkey projects.
