Forming fabrics

Valmet's forming fabrics comprise a wide range of excellent forming fabrics to fulfill all customer expectations. Valmet has constantly improved their forming fabric technology and created fabrics providing excellent runnability, high wear resistance, long running time, good paper profiles and good retention. Specialized forming fabric designs for packaging grades continue to improve drainage. Development work is done closely with Valmet's forming section specialists.

Dewatering elements for board and paper machines

Dewatering equipment beneath the forming fabric helps drain water from the stock and conduct it away into the whitewater system. We can offer you a comprehensive range of ceramics and polyethylene dewatering elements, and adjustable foils to suit all positions and OEM machine configurations.

OptiCalender Multinip calendering

Valmet’s multinip calender is used both in off-line and on-line applications. The OptiCalender Multinip loading principle makes it possible to load all nips with the same linear load, resulting in efficient plasticization of paper in the very first nips. Profiling performance is affected by the number of control zones on deflection compensated bottom and top rolls.

OptiReels center driven reeling

The center-driven, fully automated reels are designed for large production lines and medium-sized production lines. The reel masters the more challenging reeling conditions and delivers the best performance available.

OptiWin Belt belt supported winder

OptiWin Belt features the belt-bed winding method, which is renowned for its outstanding performance and unrivaled roll quality. Belt supported winding is advanced two-drum winding for demanding grades, such as coated board, LWC and release grades.

OptiSizer Pond sizing

Pond size application technology is primarily designed for specialty paper grades, heavy printing papers, and for board when through-sizing is needed.

The OptiCoat Layer multilayer curtain coater applies extremely thin – or thick - and uniform layers simultaneously all within one, compact coating station. The multilayer concept offers several advantages over single-layer curtain coating and other conventional coating methods.
