Reactors for chemical textile fiber treatment
Reactors are used to provide the retention time required to optimize the process. They are designed to withstand the conditions needed, i.e., pressure, temperature, pH, and the specific chemicals applied. Atmospheric reactors are often referred to as towers.
Ozone can be used for decolorization and viscosity control in the recycling of cotton. Valmet’s ozone reactor, OZRA, is designed for treatment of high consistency pulp with ozone, providing excellent contact between gas and pulp as well as the required residence time for the reaction.
