Valmet signs a renewal of the service agreement for the AS Estonian Cell pulp mill in Kunda, Estonia

Valmet has signed an extension of the service agreement with AS Estonian Cell aspen pulp mill in Kunda, Estonia. The previous three-year agreement between Estonian Cell and Valmet was extended to an additional five years.

The order is included in Valmet’s orders received of the first quarter 2023. The value of the order will not be disclosed.

Technical details about the delivery

The service agreement covers continuous collaboration on spare parts, process evaluations and condition assessment of the mechanical equipment, as well as yearly shutdowns of the fiber line and baling line.

About AS Estonian Cell

AS Estonian Cell is a Kunda-based aspen pulp mill, owned by the Austrian Heinzel Group. The mill produces 190,000 tons of aspen pulp a year, which is used in the production of printing paper, cardboard, tissue paper and special-use paper. The mill’s innovative technology allows for an environmentally friendly production, such as sulphur-free production, chlorine-free bleaching, low water use and a high wood yield. The company employs around 100 people.
