Valmet to deliver an automation system replacement to Fortum’s heating plant in Espoo, Finland
Sep 25, 2024
Valmet will deliver a Valmet DNA Automation System to Fortum Heating and Cooling business’s Kaupunginkallio heating plant in Espoo, Finland. The new system will replace an outdated system on the site. As the Kaupunginkallio heating plant produces heat to the local district heat network during the coldest winter months, it is important that the plant’s automation system features high availability.
The order was included in Valmet’s orders received of the first quarter 2024. The value of the order is not disclosed. The delivery will be taken over by the customer in December 2024.
We serve our customers with competitive and increasingly cleaner district heating. The heating must be reliable even on the coldest winter days. Valmet is a trusted partner that has convinced us with its previous automation deliveries," says Maintenance Coordinator Juha Rikkonen from Fortum’s Heating and Cooling business.
This delivery represents yet another step for Fortum to upgrade the automation level of its heating plants with Valmet DNA. The new system will be connected to Fortum’s Suomenoja power plant from where it will be possible to monitor and control the Kaupunginkallion heat plant remotely,” says Tom Bäckman, Sales Manager, Automation Systems, Valmet.
