Valmet continues to develop and strengthen its customer relationships through service agreements in all industry segments it is serving.
In 2023, Valmet signed 427 new service agreements and exceeded the milestone of 2200 operative agreements. The monetary value and specific details of Valmet’s agreements are not disclosed. Orders based on agreements are typically booked over a longer period of time.
“Through agreements, we support our customers in reducing their environmental impact, securing safe and reliable operations, improving process performance, prolonging equipment lifetime and using resources efficiently, as well as securing skills and competences. Service agreements support our customers in reaching the optimal outcome throughout the lifecycle of their processes,” says Sampo Vörgren, Vice President, Services Development at Valmet.
Service agreements are tailored to customer needs, whether it is about easy access to Valmet experts, high quality products and services, or continuous development of performance to reach mutually agreed targets. Agreement models vary from corporate-level frame agreements to mill-level partnership agreements.
Valmet’s service agreement content ranges from spare parts, consumables and fabrics to roll services, operational technology (OT) cybersecurity, condition monitoring and learning services, including both on-site and remote services. Through agreements covering lifecycle and outsourcing services, Valmet can support customers even more comprehensively in their daily work.
The number of service agreements is steadily growing in all Valmet’s main customer segments around the world. The growth is seen with all different agreement models. Agreements are one of Valmet’s strategic key initiatives in its stable business segments and are a valuable way to support customers in reducing their environmental footprint and enhancing circularity.
“The value of the service agreement is demonstrated through achieving mutually set targets. According to our customers, we have succeeded well which also shows in the numbers of new and renewed contracts,” says Vörgren.
