Valmet Enhances Port Hawkesbury Paper’s Operations with Valmet DNA Condition Monitoring

Nov 14, 2024

Port Hawkesbury Paper has chosen Valmet to deliver a condition monitoring solution for its supercalendered paper mill in Nova Scotia, Canada. This upgrade continues the two companies’ shared history in online condition monitoring and vibration analysis, replacing an earlier generation Sensodec system with the most advanced Valmet DNA Condition Monitoring system yet. By utilizing a common platform with Valmet DNA Distributed Control System (DCS), the advanced condition monitoring solution enhances Port Hawkesbury Paper’s ability to collaborate across teams and leverage data from within the DNA network.

“The Valmet DNA Condition Monitoring at Port Hawkesbury Paper stands out for its ability to combine vibration analysis with critical lubricant health and machine runnability data. Our goal is to equip our customers with the tools and insights needed to solve complex machinery issues by offering a more complete view of machinery and process health. By leveraging these capabilities in conjunction with our Valmet DNA network, Port Hawkesbury gains unparalleled access to essential condition monitoring data, all within a single platform. This ensures that crucial information is visible to both operations and maintenance teams, enabling them to make timely and well-informed decisions,” says Matthew Boudreau, Condition Monitoring Solutions Manager, Valmet.
