Valmet and Neles Automation rebuild Stora Enso BM in Imatra, Finland

Valmet and Neles Automation will supply Stora Enso Packaging Boards of Imatra, Finland with a rebuild of their board machine no. 4. The main target of the modernization is to improve the printability characteristics of the liquid packaging boards produced. The project will be carried out in November-December this year.
The Valmet delivery will consist of a dilution-control SymFlo TD headbox and a fourdrinier forming section for the filler ply; a rearrangement of the dryer section; Valmet’s new FoilForce ropeless tail threading system for the calender area; short circulation system for the dilution control; mechanical drives for the entire machine; alterations to the vacuum and lubrication systems; modernization of machine controls; an IQDilution system; spare rolls; assembly, start-up and training services; ventilation system rebuild; calender pulper and broke conveyer. The delivery will be handled by Valmet’s unit in Jyväskylä, Finland.
The order also includes a nelesDNA process automation system and modifications of the process information system, both delivered by Neles Automation.
The rebuilt machine will have a capacity of 230,000 tpy, the basis weight range being 200 - 400 gsm.
