UIPSA of Spain orders Valmet Windrum Winder

The Union Industrial Papelera S.A. (UIPSA) La Pobla de Claramunt mill in Catalonia, Spain has placed an order for a highly automated Valmet WinDrum-M winder. UIPSA is a privately owned board mill 60 km southwest of Barcelona. The WinDrum winder was ordered for PM 1 which produces testliner 80-250 g/m² with an annual capacity of 175,000 tons.

The WinDrum with a trim width of 4960 mm will start up in March 2000. It is equipped with automatic set change, WindPosit automatic slitter positioning, automatic core feeding and core and tail gluing. A WindControl extended control system. WindHelp diagnostics package and pulper are also included in the delivery.
