StoraEnso, Whiting mill orders WinBelt M winder

StoraEnso North America has ordered a WinBelt M winder from Metso Paper, for the No. 64 LWC paper machine at its Whiting mill in Stevens Point, Wisconsin, USA. Start-up is scheduled for January of 2003.
The new WinBelt M winder will have a design speed of 9800 fpm (3000 m/min) and drive speed of 8500 fpm (2600 m/min). Maximum trimmed web width is 224 inches (5.7 meters.) Supporting equipment will include broke and trim conveying systems as well as a broke pulper. In addition, the winder will be supplied with a series of automatic systems including the continuous winding concept utilizing a butt-joint splicer at the unwind, reel spool handling, WindPosit slitter positioning and automatic set change, and core gluing.
To date, Metso Paper has delivered close to a hundred WinBelt winders worldwide.
