The new Metso Paper TMP line at Stora Enso's mill in Port Hawkesbury, Nova Scotia, Canada, has been started up. This new TMP line replaces existing stone groundwood (SGW) and high-yield sulphite (HYS) plants.

Design capacity of the new TMP line is 780 tpd. The Metso Paper delivery includes all main process equipment including the chip washing, main line refining, mainline and reject screening, as well as rejects refining. In addition, Metso Automation supplied a DCS system.

The Port Hawkesbury Mill has two paper machines including PM1 that produces newsprint, and PM2 that produces supercalendered SC-A+ grade paper. The new TMP line will primarily feed PM1.
