Metso Paper officially opened its Stateline Service Center during a ribbon-cutting ceremony held November 15th, 2001.
The totally new facility, located in Beloit, Wisconsin, now handles central distribution of spare parts and consumables for Metso Paper for North America, as well as the assembly and repair of certain components. In addition, it houses engineering and service personnel supporting field services and upgrades of fiber and papermaking lines. The ceremony, held in the 8 000 m² facility (86,000 sq. ft), was attended by over 250 honorary guests including the 170 center employees.
According to Juhani Pakkala, President and CEO of Metso Paper, “this new facility reinforces Metso Paper's commitment to the North American pulp and paper industry and improves our ability to service Valmet and Beloit machinery." Says Jukka Tiitinen, President of Metso Paper Service, "this new service center is just one of the many actions taken by Metso Paper to better serve our North American customers."
