Metso Paper China has established a Logistics Center in Shanghai. The Logistics Center is located in the Waigaoqiao Free Trade Area of Shanghai and it will serve the Chinese and Asia Pacific markets. Components and spare parts will also be supplied to other Metso's units in Europe and North America.
The joint Logistics Center of Metso Paper and Metso Automation will offer considerable competitive advantages to Metso. Local manufacturing and subcontracting ensure short delivery times. Common network of sub-suppliers and joint resources in logistics, purchasing and dispatching will result in improved customer service. China's favourable cost structure will also bring benefits in the manufacture of components and spare parts. Thanks to the free trade area, assembly and delivery of components worldwide will be flexible.
The total area of the Logistics Center is approximately 7500 sq.m and it will employ 50 to 60 people.
Metso Paper is committed to the entire life cycle of the paper machine. The new Logistics Center ensures flexibility in spare parts supply and service as well as continuous customer-driven development.
China is currently the fastest growing market for pulp and paper machinery in the world.
