Metso supplies multifuel-fired boiler to Poland

Metso will supply Stora Enso Poland S.A. with a multi-fuel fired power boiler to the company's new power plant at Ostroleka Mill in Ostroleka, 120 kilometers from Warsaw in Poland. Start-up of the boiler is scheduled for the second half of 2010. Stora Enso's Ostroleka Mill is a paper and paper packaging integrate which comprises a pulp and paper mill, a corrugated board and boxes mill and a sack mill. The value of the order is approximately EUR 50 million, and it will be included in Metso Paper's Q4 orders received.
Metso Power will supply for the power plant a power boiler which will utilize circulating fluidized bed (CFB) technology and is capable of burning a wide range of different fuels including biomass, paper and fiber rejects, sludge and coal. The new power plant will produce process steam and electricity to the mill. The delivery will also include a flue gas cleaning system, which decreases environmental effects at Ostroleka area.
