Metso Paper to supply woodhandling and BCTMP line to Shandong Chenming

Shandong Chenming Paper Holdings Ltd. has selected Metso Paper to supply a new woodhandling and BCTMP line for mechanical pulp production in Chenming, Shandong province, China. The BCTMP (bleached chemi-thermomechanical pulp) line will have a design capacity of 735 tpd and produce high-quality, high-bulk BCTMP pulp for board production. Chinese Poplar will be used as raw material for the line. The start-up is scheduled for the first quarter of 2005.
The BCTMP line is based on Metso Paper’s proven high-capacity CD-refiner concept. The line will include the world’s largest single CD-refiner line for BCTMP pulp production. It will include all main process technology for chip washing, main-line refining and screening, reject thickening and refining, pulp washing, high-consistency bleaching, steam separation with heat recovery and a DCS system.
The woodhandling system features a new GentleBarking system consisting of a GentleFeed drum infeed, an EasyTyre barking drum, special bark separation conveyor and a Camura GS chipper. The chip-handling system consists of two EasyScreen™ chip screens and two chip silos equipped with rotary screw reclaimers.
Shandong Chenming Paper Holdings Ltd. is one of the largest paper companies in China. The company’s production capacity is approximately 1.5 million tpy of paper and board. Shandong Chenming Paper Holdings Ltd. is listed for trading of its A and B shares on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange.
