Metso Paper to supply an Advantage DCT 100 tissue line to Syktyvkar Tissue Group, Russia

Metso Paper will supply a complete Advantage DCT 100 tissue production line to Syktyvkar Tissue Group Ltd. The line is scheduled to start up at their Syktyvkar mill in the republic of Komi during autumn 2007. The value of the order is not disclosed.

The Metso delivery comprises a complete tissue production line with Metso stock preparation equipment, Advantage DCT 100 tissue machine including an OptiFlo II TIS headbox, Metso Yankee, Advantage AirCap hood, Advantage WetDust dust management system as well as air and ventilation equipment. The value of an order like this is in the range of EUR 10-15 million.

The 2.7-meter-wide Advantage DCT 100 tissue machine has a design speed of 1,600 m/min and a daily production of 60-90 tons.

The order also comprises QCS and DCS systems by Metso Automation.

This is the 9th Advantage DCT 100 tissue machine sold by Metso Paper since the launch of the concept in December 2005.

The tissue industry in Syktyvkar, since 2003 operated by Syktyvkar Tissue Group, has been present in the paper and tissue business for more than 20 years. With a market share of around 10 % it is currently one of the best known companies on the Russian tissue product market. The company, which employs 230 people, produces 17,500 t/y of tissue in a grammage range of 23-30 gsm. The Group's headquarters and production facilities are located in Syktyvkar, capital of the republic of Komi in northwestern Russia.
