Metso Paper to deliver board making line to Jianhui Paper in China

Metso Paper together with its Chinese joint venture company Valmet-Xian will supply a board making line to Dongguan Jianhui Paper Co., Ltd. in China. The new line, already the second one delivered to the same customer, has been designed for the manufacture of high quality recycled coated board and is scheduled to start up in August 2005. The total value of the order is over EUR 30 million.

Valmet-Xian as well as Metso units in Finland and Sweden will participate in the delivery. The new BM 2 line will utilize proven and new technology of the Metso Paper coated board concept.

The board making line will be 4.5 m wide and its running speed will be 600 m/min. It will produce coated recycled 5-ply board grades duplex and triplex in the basis weight range of 250 – 450 g/m² with an annual production capacity of approximately 300.000 tons.

Dongguan Jianhui Paper is a privately owned company located in Dongguan City in the province of Guangdong, Southeastern China.

Metso Paper's and Valmet-Xian's first delivery to Jianhui, the BM1 line, will start up in May 2004 and will produce high quality recycled coated board to meet the needs of the southern China market. The maximum operating speed of this 4-ply machine is 600 m/min and the wire width 4.95 m.
