Metso Paper to deliver board making line to Foshan Huafeng Paper in China

Metso Paper together with its Chinese joint venture company Valmet-Xian will supply a board making line to Foshan Huafeng Paper Co., Ltd. in China. The new line has been designed for the manufacture of high quality recycled coated board. The PM 3 line will be located in Zhuhai, Guangdong province and is scheduled to start up in fall 2005. The total value of the order is over EUR 30 million.

Valmet-Xian as well as Metso units in Finland and Sweden will participate in the delivery. The new PM 3 line will utilize proven and new technology of the Metso Paper coated board concept.

The board making line will be 5.15 m wide and its design speed will be 700 m/min. It will produce 4-ply White Lined Chipboard (WLC) in a basis weight range of 250 – 450 g/m² with an annual production capacity of approximately 300.000 tons.

Foshan Huafeng Paper, located in the Guangdong province, is one of the largest producers of high-quality coated white board in Southern China. It belongs to Foshan Huaxin Packaging Co., Ltd that is listed in the Shenzhen Stock Exhange. Before the new PM 3, Foshan Paper’s production capacity is 140,000 tons annually. In 2000, the company was granted the ISO9002, followed by the ISO9001 in 2003. It was also China’s first paper mill to win the OHSAS18001 Certificate.
