Metso Paper and ValLog to cooperate in spare part logistics

Metso Paper and the Finnish ValLog Oy have agreed on cooperation in the field of spare part logistics. ValLog will handle the spare part logistics for the Service unit of Metso Paper's Paper and Board business line, including receiving of spare parts, shipping and warehousing services. The value of the contract is not disclosed.
With this cooperation, Metso Paper targets to increase the efficiency of its growing spare part deliveries for higher customer satisfaction and more cost-efficient operations. The location of ValLog's handling and warehousing facilities in Kerava, Finland, near Helsinki-Vantaa airport, will ensure quick and efficient deliveries to all over the world.
The spare part logistics will be transferred to ValLog by end of June, 2008. The personnel of Metso Paper will not be affected, as all the persons, now permanently working in spare part logistics, will be employed in other operations of the unit. The future use of the Logistics Center facilities at Jyväskylä, Finland, is presently under consideration.
