The Metso Paper -supplied PM 6 at Papierfabrik Palm in Wörth, Germany, has become the first-ever containerboard machine to continuously run at more than 1,500 m/min for 24 hours. On 14 September 2006 the machine ran at an average speed of 1,511 m/min, producing corrugating medium at 100-110 g/m². Runnability and quality were excellent and this resulted in a new daily production record of 2,081 tons.

The record-breaking machine was supplied by Metso Paper in 2002. The PM 6, which has a net width of 10.3 m, produces testliner at 90-140 g/m², corrugating medium at 80-130 g/m² and Schrenz at 70-120 g/m². The quality of all grades produced has been exceptionally good since start-up.

The Metso Paper delivery consisted of complete recycled fiber lines and stock preparation systems, the containerboard machine, two winders, and roll handling systems.
