Metso Corporation in China

Metso Corporation is today firmly established in China with joint-venture production units, Metso´s own production and service units, sales and representative offices. Altogether these activities employ well over 1,700 people.

Metso Paper (formerly Valmet) is the leading supplier of machinery, equipment and systems to the pulp, paper, panelboard and converting industries all over the world. In China it is also known as a partner in the joint-venture Valmet-Xian Paper Machinery Co.Ltd. The company started its operations in Xian, Shaanxi Province, in 1989 and employs today more than 1,300 people.

In 1992 Metso started in Beijing the representative office of the fiber technology, followed by the paper technology representative office in 1997. Metso Paper (Wuxi) Co. Ltd. started its operations in Wuxi, Jiangsu Province, in 2001. Metso Paper's Converting business line has its own sales office in Hongkong.

Metso Paper has delivered several paper machines, pulping lines and panelboard lines to China during the last years. Their customer base in China includes well-known companies such as Shandong Chenming, Nanping Paper, UPM-Kymmene Changshu, StoraEnso Suzhou, Jiangsu Gold East, Black Dragon Paper, Nine Dragons Paper, Jilin Paper, Jilin Shixian Paper and Yantai First Paper.

Metso Automation

The main customers of Metso Automation are pulp, paper, energy, oil, gas, chemical and other process industries which involve sophisticated automation and valve systems for process control. The technology and services of Metso Automation are widely used in Chinese process industries. Metso Automation´s joint-venture manufacturing company Shanghai Neles-Jamesbury has for about ten years manufactured control-valves used not only by Chinese customers, but also by export customers.To broaden its activities in China Metso Automation has recently established a valve supply and service center, Metso Automation (Shanghai) Co.Ltd, in the Shanghai Waigaoqiao Free Trade Zone.

Metso Automation has sales or representative offices in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou.

Metso Minerals

The rock crushing and mineral processing equipment and systems of Metso Minerals are used by construction, mining and mineral processing companies. In China the huge Three Gorges Dam project has chosen to use Metso Minerals´ equipment. Certain models of rock crushing equipment are manufactured in Metso Minerals (Tianjin) Co. Ltd.

Metso Minerals has sales or representative offices in Beijing, Nanjing, Xiamen and Hongkong.
