Appointments in Metso Paper as of November 1, 2006

Reima Kerttula, currently Managing Director of Rautpohja Paper and Board Machinery, will be appointed President of Paper and Board Business Line as of November 1, 2006. He will report to Risto Hautamäki, President of Metso Paper.

The following units will report to Reima Kerttula: Rautpohja Paper and Board Machinery; Metso-SHI in Japan; Metso Paper Technology (Shanghai) in China; Metso Paper Como in Italy, as well as the Process Solutions business of PBL worldwide.

At the same time, Metso Paper will strengthen its dedication to the ever-growing board machine markets. Kari Kalliala, currently President of Paper and Board Business Line, will be appointed Senior Vice President, Board Machines, responsible for the management and development of board customer relations during sales, project and reference phases. Kalliala will report to Pertti Soikkanen, Senior Vice President, Sales. Kalliala will transfer to the new position as of November 1, 2006.

Sakari Häyrynen will be appointed the new Managing Director of Rautpohja Paper and Board Machinery. Previously he has worked in Rautpohja as Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing. He will report to Reima Kerttula and will transfer to the new position as of November 1, 2006.
