Metso Capital Markets Day 2010

Metso is arranging a Capital Markets Day event for analysts and investors in
Kirkkonummi and Pori, Finland today and tomorrow. The focus of the event is on
Metso's actions to exploit the opportunities of the recovering market with its
sustainable solutions. There will be presentations about the Group, its
reporting segments and also independent expert views about the mining and
bio-energy markets.

"We have seen the recovery in the global economy to gain momentum and there
continues to be positive signs in demand in most of our customer industries. The
improving customer capacity utilization rates are supporting our services
business and most of our customers are gradually regaining their confidence to
increase the level of their investments. We are following the recent financial
turmoil in southern Europe, but have so far not seen any material impact of it
