Innovation spotlight: new hard nip sizing technology

OptiSizer Hard is Valmet’s completely new size application method, which uses higher nip loads to improve sheet strength properties by taking advantage of better starch penetration and decreasing fiber to fiber distance. Also, the life cycle costs of the sizer are lower due spray application and runnability is better due to better nip profile control. In the video, Valmet’s Development Manager Jani Hakola explains the operation of the new technology and talks about the importance of pilot trials when developing new solutions.
