Wishing you joy and peace in 2023

The year 2022 has been extraordinary in many respects – again. In a constantly changing world and amidst global turbulence it is important to nurture collaboration and work persistently for a better future.

As part of this work, in 2022 Valmet focused on moving its Sustainability360° Agenda forward and on ensuring the good progress of our Climate Program – Forward to a carbon neutral future. We also launched a large Beyond Circularity R&D project, which aims to improve Valmet’s ability to support the green transition in our customers’ industries. The Metsä Fibre Kemi bioproduct mill project introduced in this magazine is a great showcase for how developments related to these programs become reality on our customers’ sites: how the latest technology can help reduce – or even eliminate – CO2 emissions.

Valmet is a truly global company, operating in over 40 countries with 17,500 employees around the world. To support equal opportunities for wellbeing, and to promote science and a clean planet, especially in the areas Valmet operates in, we expanded our social responsibility program with several new local projects in 2022. Valmet people were actively involved in selecting the local projects, and we are happy about the strong engagement of our people around the world in making them a reality. 

Even small actions can have a big impact for a better future. We will move forward with the global Valmet team and our valued customers to make a difference together.
