We make a difference together

I feel privileged to work with people who are developing concrete solutions to combat climate change and global warming – Valmet colleagues, customers, partners and other stakeholders across our value chain. Even in these turbulent times – with the war in Ukraine, rising inflation, the continued global pandemic and disruptions in the supply chains – we share the same understanding of the importance of this work.

Every day, Valmet works on numerous customer sites and projects globally to help its customers improve environmental efficiency and move toward carbon neutrality. A recent example is the start-up of Palm Aalen’s new corrugated board making line in 2021. It is a true showcase of CO2-efficient board production achieved with “lightweighting,” the use of 100 percent recycled raw material, the latest energy-efficient technological solutions and mill-wide automation. In this issue, you can read more about the Palm project and other environmental efficiency improvements we have implemented with our customers. 

We also collaborate closely with our other stakeholders to transform the entire industry as we move toward carbon neutrality. We support our suppliers in finding ways to reduce emissions in the supply chain. Similarly, we are moving toward renewable energy in our own operations and engaging our employees in energy efficiency improvements across our operations.
