For all of us, 2020 has been quite an exceptional year. It has demanded flexibility and much creativity in finding new ways to collaborate and make things happen.

The Covid-19 pandemic has accelerated the digitalization of our offering and operations. In this issue, we present some of the excellent results achieved by our offering of remote services and solutions to our customers around the world. One of this year’s highlights is the remote start-up of a customer’s new tissue machine, where a new way of working, utilizing digital tools and remote assistance, made “the impossible possible.” We have also arranged remote reference visits for our customers, enabling a large number of their representatives to virtually visit the customer site in which they are interested.

Valmet’s pilot facilities also offer remote testing possibilities. This means only one or two people from the customer company have been present at the pilot facility, with the rest of the team following the pilot trial remotely.

Digitalization has also brought a completely new dimension to the field services typically conducted on site at customer mills and plants. With our advanced remote connections and tools, we offer maintenance services like troubleshooting and inspections, conduct pre-audits before scheduled site visits, or simply provide additional support in daily operations as required.

Our network of eight Performance Centers is available 24 hours a day, serving every industry and region. I hope you find inspiration in this magazine for utilizing Valmet’s comprehensive remote services and solutions in taking your performance forward!
