Valmet is the leading global developer and supplier of technologies, automation and services for the pulp, paper, energy and other process industries. Creating these technologies and services requires a range of resources: from skillful people to natural resources like metals, water and energy, from finances to infrastructure, as well as intellectual and social capabilities.

We seek to reduce environmental impacts throughout the entire value chain. When thinking of Valmet as technology and services partner for paper or energy industries, around 4% of our environmental impact – meaning CO2 emissions - arises from our supply chain, 1% from our own operations, and the remaining 95% is emitted when our customers use our technologies over their entire life cycles. Our customers in pulp industry are different in this sense, since they are often self-sufficient with bio energy.

We invest tens of millions of euros annually into developing even better technology and services that enable the use of less natural resources and lower CO2 emissions in our customers’ operations.

Our technologies make customers’ production more environmentally-efficient and help them replace fossil fuels with renewables. With more sustainable production, we enable a better future for our customers and their customers.
