Jan 4, 2019
Valmet’s first global multi-site certificate for Quality, Environmental and Health & Safety standards has been issued.
Two years ago, Valmet’s Global Management System (GMS) certification project was set up in order to achieve a common certification for the management system. The first goal was a global certificate for Quality, Environmental and Health & Safety standards, which was issued in December 2018.
“The first multi-site certificate covers 71 locations. Our target is to expand the coverage to all production facilities so that at least 90 percent of our people work in operations certified to all three standards by 2025,” says Juha Lappalainen, Senior Vice President of Strategy and Operational Development.
The common global management system supports an efficient process-oriented way of working towards satisfaction of customer and other stakeholder expectations.
“We believe that the system enhances strategic alignment, risk and opportunity management and continuous improvement. The first multi-site certificate assures stakeholders and customers that Valmet embeds effective quality, health, safety and environmental management practices into all aspects of its business,” Lappalainen continues.
Sustainability is at the core of Valmet's business strategy and operations. Valmet’s values, Code of Conduct and related policies as well as selected globally acknowledged initiatives and principles create the foundation for sustainable performance.
