Valmet receives Bronze Class distinction in the Sustainability Yearbook 2022
Feb 1, 2022
Valmet has received Bronze Class distinction in the Global Sustainability Yearbook 2022 by S&P Global for its excellent sustainability performance. The Yearbook showcases the sustainability performance of the world’s largest companies and provides in-depth analysis on corporate sustainability.
The 2022 selection was based on S&P Global's 2021 Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA), which evaluated more than 7,500 companies and awarded recognition to around 700 organizations. In order to be listed in the Yearbook, companies must score within the top 15% of their industry. Valmet’s highest results were achieved in risk and crisis management, environmental and social reporting and human capital development.
"This is the 8th consecutive year that we are included the Yearbook, and we are very honored by this recognition from S&P Global. The inclusion among the world’s best performing companies in sustainability is again a great acknowledgement for the progress we are making in sustainability. To continue our systematic work, we renewed our sustainability agenda and introduced our climate program in 2021. I am extremely proud of our company and our employees for their engagement and support for our sustainability performance everyday,” says Laura Puustjärvi, Head of Sustainability, Valmet.
Established in 1999, the CSA has become the basis for numerous ESG indices. The CSA is an analysis of economic, environmental and social performance of the world’s leading companies, assessing issues covering climate change strategies, supply chain standards, labour practices, corporate governance and risk management. The same CSA was used as the basis for Valmet being included in the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI), which was announced on November 15, 2021.
