Valmet expands its roll services capabilities in Asia Pacific
Mar 11, 2019
Valmet has expanded its services operations in Laem Chabang Service Center, Thailand with roll composite covering facilities representing the latest technology. The driving force for the investment has been the increasing market demand for high quality composite covers in many roll positions on paper, board and tissue machines.
The new machinery started operation at the end of January 2019, manufacturing composite roll covers with a range from 300–1,500 mm in diameter and with a maximum roll cover length of 12 meters.
“Valmet keeps developing local roll service consistently in Asia Pacific. We believe that the additional capability to offer composite roll covers to our customers further strengthens our position. This investment fulfils the requirements of demanding roll cover positions, and the overall turnaround time is improved. We aim to further improve the service experience we deliver to our customers”, says Jianhong Zou, Business Manager, Service Operations in South East Asia, Valmet.
“Composite roll covers represent our most durable covers, both in wear resistance as well as in dynamic load durability, and they are critical for efficient papermaking. The covers are developed with the newest material technology requiring manufacture with dedicated equipment developed by Valmet. With this investment and our skilled people, we can continue to offer our customers our newest composite covers,” says Rob Stapels, Global Technology Manager, Roll Covers, Valmet.
This new investment brings Valmet’s world class roll services closer to customers in South East Asia and Asia Pacific overall.
