Could you describe your company in few sentences?

Inteka is a specialized solution provider for the process industry in the fields of automation and process control. Born in the early nineties as an automation company, Inteka has deeply thrived in this area while developing strong capabilities and widening its scope as high performance flow control solutions provider across different industrial sectors, plus specialized instrumentation for the Pulp&Paper industry. Proudly driven by pillars of transparency, collaboration, sustainability, innovation and a steadfast commitment to excellence, Inteka delivers to its customer throughout the entire Plata region.

Can you tell us briefly about your history of cooperation with Valmet?

At Inteka, we have had a strategic and deep-rooted relationship with Valmet (formerly Metso) since 2007, encompassing Valmet's Automation and Flow Control portfolios. As a result, we have focused on achieving a high level of expertise in process engineering, application engineering of Valmet’s solutions, and delivering high-value services to clients.

Can you give us a good example of one of your latest customer success cases?

After the identification and detailed review of the case, we have provided a full automated valve scope for the automation of critical water removal step through molecular sieve process units in a bioethanol plant.

What was the original challenge they had? Why did they end up choosing Valmet’s flow control solutions?

Molecular sieves are critical units from both process point and safety point of view. Former installed valves from other manufacturer were facing significant reliability issues, leading to several unplanned plant shutdowns and seriously impacting plant’s availability. Careful assessment of the main sources of frequent valve failures in the area in close collaboration with the customer, plus the large Valmet expertise in high cycling molecular sieve valve applications, led the customer to choose Valmet’s flow control solution.

What are the results? How did the solutions help them?

The main result has been the total elimination of unexpected stops in the molecular sieves ever since. Moreover, maintenance costs reduced drastically compared to previous installed valves from other supplier, due to accurate valve, actuator and controller selection.

How would you describe the collaboration between you and Valmet?

Inteka’s collaboration with Valmet has been continuous for almost 20 years now, closely supporting each other, and pushing for our main common goal of taking our customers process performance and safety forward.

Anything else you want to highlight?

We are committed to working closely with the customer to provide the optimal solution for each project. Our day-to-day work, from process understanding and valve’s selection to lifecycle support, strives to improve customer experiences and strengthen their confidence up to considering us as their flow control consultant. These activities are supported by having an in-depth background in process and application engineering as well as local capacity to implement solutions efficiently and quickly. Having mobile service centres and a regional supply centre with a stock of main products has allowed us to solve critical issues in a very short time.
