R&D processes focus on customers
Following Valmet R&D processes ensures that product development always starts with gathering and analyzing customer needs. Ultimately, it’s all about understanding how we can best help customers to achieve their goals.
Although Neles NDX FF is a product variant of the existing Neles NDX HART, it was clear that we wanted to find out what the Fieldbus’s specific needs were.
However, based on the feedback on and analysis of the current design, it’s always possible to improve the usability and further emphasize the safe use of our devices.
Interoperability is key to easy commissioning and use
When thinking about the variety of different control systems and technologies in the field, it’s all about following industrial standards. As a field device manufacturer, we need to make sure that our devices can be easily commissioned and used, whatever system the customer selects.
Neles NDX FF is an FDI (Field Device Integration) registered product, meaning it is fully designed and tested against FOUNDATION Fieldbus and FDI specifications by FieldComm Group, a global standards-based non-profit member organization.
Device configuration and maintenance is possible with certified EDD (electronic device description) or DTM (device type manager) files. No matter what technology or system is selected, the commissioning and use should be easy because everything works in a standardized way. In addition, we cooperate with major host application vendors to get the interoperability of our products verified in different systems.
