Valmet is delivering a power boiler and flue gas cleaning equipment to Progroup Power 2 GmbH in Sandersdorf-Brehna, Germany

Phase out of fossil fuel

With our modern BFB boiler, the customer is able to phase out fossil fuel and instead utilize biomass and waste from their paper mill. At the same time the mill will produce lower emissions and boost the circular economy in its paper production.

Steam and electricity to the paper mill

Valmet’s delivery includes a Valmet BFB Boiler, featuring bubbling fluidized bed technology. The boiler, with a 115 MW fuel capacity, will run on residues and sludge from the company’s adjoining paper mill, as well as biogas and refuse-derived fuel (RDF) sourced from the market. The boiler will produce 146.7 t/h of steam to generate electricity and to be utilized at the paper mill.

The delivery also includes Valmet’s flue gas cleaning technology, consisting of burners, a Valmet Electrostatic Precipitator, a Valmet Bag House Filter and a Valmet Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) solution.

The project is proceeding well

The power plant’s handover is scheduled for the end of 2025.
