Earlier this year, Valmet employees from North America participated in the Hands-on Workshop for Pulp and Paper Basics at North Carolina State University. This intensive workshop, co-sponsored by TAPPI and NC State University, offered a thorough introduction to the pulp and paper manufacturing process, including key areas such as pulping, bleaching, chemical recovery, recycling, papermaking, and converting.
Valmet Attendees:
- Emily Howard, Internal Communications Specialist, North America
- Kevin Wilson, Product Manager, NA SER Rolls ROL Cover Maintenance US
- Bill Bork, Product Manager, NA SER Rolls ROL Cover Maintenance US

These practical sessions enhanced their understanding of the entire pulping and papermaking process and its impact on paper properties.
Valmet’s sponsorship of two breakfasts during the workshop provided a platform to discuss our innovative solutions with industry peers, customers, and competitors. This engagement underscored Valmet’s commitment to supporting industry education and fostering professional growth.
We are excited about the upcoming opportunities in 2025, with workshops scheduled for March, June, and October. These events will continue to offer valuable training and networking opportunities, furthering Valmet’s mission to lead and innovate in the pulp and paper industry.
