Who are you and how did you end up at Valmet?
“My name is Rattanachai and my educational background is in Business Information Technology. I wanted to apply for Valmet’s internship program in Thailand to expand my horizons and gain valuable and practical experience, as I firmly believe that learning knows no bounds. I joined the internship program between November 2023 and February 2024 as a member of Valmet’s Asia Pacific Finance team. “
What are your biggest learnings from the internship program?
“Firstly, I’ve developed my communication skills. Valmet has provided me with different opportunities to enhance my communication skills. Whether it’s collaborating with colleagues or presenting ideas, I’ve learned the importance of clear and effective communication.
Secondly, being part of Valmet’s internship program has given me a behind-the-scenes look at how a global company operates. I’ve gained insights about organization such as structures, processes, and decision-making.
Moreover, Valmet’s inclusive and supportive culture has made my journey extremely enjoyable. From team-building activities to celebrating milestones, I’ve felt like a valued member of the Valmet family. I’ve had the pleasure of working with some truly wonderful colleagues. Their expertise, encouragement, and positivity have made my internship memorable.
Finally, I’ve learned that Valmet encourages curiosity. I’ve had the chance to explore different facets of knowledge—whether it’s diving into financial analysis, understanding supply chains, or learning about sustainability practices.”
How would you summarize your internship program experience at Valmet?
“Over these four months, Valmet has been more than just a workplace. It’s been a place of growth, learning, and togetherness. In summary, Valmet has offered me an open and supportive learning environment, one that fosters growth, curiosity, and collaboration.
