Fiber Technology Training

In May, the 5th iteration of the Spare Parts Academy was held in Sundsvall, Sweden and Järvenpää, Finland. The opening session in Sundsvall focused on fiber and energy technologies, covering wood handling, chemical pulping, white liquor plants, fiberboard, mechanical pulping, pulp drying, and baling technologies. A dedicated segment on Energy Spare Parts was also included.

“We had an engaging week covering critical equipment in pulp and energy technologies. Participants built valuable networking connections and gained resources to better serve our customers,” said Tiago Voos, Senior Manager, Fiber Spare Parts, and Björn Kempe, Global Technology Manager.

Björn added, “Visiting Valmet’s main workshop in Sundsvall allowed participants to see the twin roll press manufacturing process and Valmet’s capabilities in servicing pulp equipment.”

Marko Nokkala, Director of Energy Spare Parts, noted, “The inclusion of energy technology in the program increases visibility and potentially generates new sales leads and opportunities. It showcased our broad technology and product portfolio effectively.”

Paper, Board & Tissue Technology Training

The second session in Järvenpää centered on paper, board, and tissue technology, with training on stock preparation, paper/board machines, and tissue machines, including a segment on Tissue Converting.

The participants in Järvenpää visiting Hyvinkää Logistic Center, where the participants learned firsthand about the logistics operations which are at the heart of our spare parts business.

We received overwhelmingly positive feedback from the 24 participants representing all Valmet areas. The program included classroom training, active discussions, networking opportunities, and a visit to the Hyvinkää logistics center,” said Oliver Nilsson, Senior Manager, Paper Spare Parts, and Miikka Ahonen, Global Technology Manager.

Juuso added, “This year, we included new technology areas: energy customers for the Fiber Session and Tissue Converting for the Paper, Board & Tissue Session. Both were well received by participants.”

The training caters to various roles, including Customer Service Specialists, Spare Parts Specialists, Product Managers, and Product Sales Managers.
