MTC Wizard is an innovative technology that brings the line segment for Z and W fold products to speeds exceeding current market benchmarks. MTC Wizard significantly increases the production capacity of a line, thus improving the return on investment and production costs. Thanks to an innovative folding rolls technology increase speed up to 600 mpm, that it translated in 55 tons/day dending on product type.

VAM Fold technology

MTC Wizard utilizes VAM Fold (Vacuum Assisted Mechanical Fold technology), a patented system that combines vacuum and mechanics for folding, unlike traditional methods that rely on mechanical grippers and tuckers. VAM Fold gently pulls the paper into the clamp using a vacuum, eliminating the wear and tear associated with mechanical grippers.  

This translates to: 

• Higher speed due to the absence of contact between mechanical components 

• Reduced maintenance thanks to simplified mechanics and less parts subject to wear 

• Wider range of workable products​ (e.g. one ply product with lower bulk) 

Higher product performance

The MTC Wizard offers a significant performance increase – 30% more production compared to traditional technology. This, combined with improved maintainability and higher OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness), leads to a significant reduction in production costs.

Valmet prioritized user-friendliness in the design of the MTC Wizard. The new layout, guarding, and walkways enhance ergonomics. The split frames allow for easier access during maintenance or cleaning.
